About Our Tinctures

All of our mushroom tinctures are crafted in very small batches at 7 Farm using only the mushroom’s fruiting body—never mycelium or grain-based fillers. The mushrooms we use are either grown or carefully foraged by us locally, allowing us to maintain a close connection to the land and complete control over quality from harvest to bottle.

Each tincture is prepared using a traditional double-extraction process. Mushrooms are first extracted in alcohol to draw out alcohol-soluble compounds such as triterpenes, then slowly simmered in water to capture beneficial polysaccharides and beta-glucans. These extracts are then combined to create a full-spectrum tincture that reflects the complete character of the mushroom.

The result is a potent, thoughtfully crafted extract made with care, intention, and a deep respect for these remarkable fungi.

Why Fruiting Bodies Matter

In mushroom supplements, not all extracts are the same. Many commercial products are made from mycelium grown on grain, which can contain a significant amount of starch from the growing medium and relatively little of the mushroom itself.

At 7 Farm, we use only the fruiting body—the actual mushroom that grows above the substrate. Fruiting bodies naturally contain higher concentrations of the beneficial compounds mushrooms are known for, including beta-glucans, triterpenes, and other bioactive constituents.

By starting with whole fruiting bodies that we grow or carefully forage locally, we’re able to produce tinctures that are more concentrated, more traditional, and more reflective of the mushroom in its natural form.

Fruiting Bodies vs. Mycelium on Grain

Not all mushroom supplements are made from the same part of the mushroom. At 7 Farm, we choose to work exclusively with fruiting bodies—the actual mushroom—because they contain the compounds mushrooms are traditionally valued for.

Fruiting Bodies (What We Use)

-The fully developed mushroom

-Naturally rich in beta-glucans, triterpenes, and other beneficial compounds

-Traditional form used in herbalism

-Grown or foraged locally by us at 7 Farm

Mycelium on Grain (Common in Many Products)

-Mycelium grown on a grain substrate

-Often contains significant grain starch from the growing medium

-Less concentrated mushroom material

-Typically mass-produced

Our approach:
We craft our tinctures using only fruiting bodies that we grow or carefully forage ourselves, then extract them using a traditional double-extraction process to capture the full spectrum of beneficial compounds.
